You may have noticed a few new products on our table at farmers' markets in the past few weeks, namely relish, chutney, soup and garlic-oak roasted tomatoes. We are taking advantage of the final flushes of fruit to prepare these tasty items for the weeks and months ahead when fewer fresh tomatoes are available. You can expect our usual level of care and attention to product quality, ie. tasty own-grown tomatoes and no additives.
The products now available are:
" Red Tomato Relish… a bright, fresh ripe tomato relish with a ginger and chilli kick
" Green Tomato Chutney… classic green tomato chutney with apples and raisins (plus a few chillies)
" Hearty Tomato Soup… delicious fresh soup; mostly tomatoes simmered with local vegetables and lightly seasoned
" Garlic Oak Roasted Tomatoes… sweet, oak-roasted tomatoes with the added warm flavour of garlic
We are very picky about the balance of flavours for our new Tomato Ketchup and are almost there with the recipe. We feel that a tomato grower's ketchup has to be something special- lots of tomatoes and just the right amount of other ingredients so the fresh flavour of the fruit comes through. The established brand has had a place in almost everyone's cupboard up until now but the new Tomato Stall version will surprise and please you when you taste it; please stay tuned.
In the meantime, the new products are now available here in our online shop alongside our established pure product line: 100% Pure Tomato Sauce to pour-over or use as a base in your favourite Bolognese, moussaka or casserole; Pure Juice to serve straight up or for an extra special Bloody Mary (try using Balsamic Vinegar instead of Worcester Sauce); and the tasty, more-ish, Oak Roasted Tomatoes and Oven Dried Tomatoes in infused oil.
