About
Tomatoes have been grown in the Arreton Valley, nestled in the heart of the Isle of Wight, for over 20 years.
THE TOMATO STALL brings the freshest, ripest and tastiest organic and conventional tomatoes from Wight Salads, here on the Isle of Wight, to Farmers’ Markets on the island, across the South and in London.
We began attending Farmers’ Markets in 2001 under the banner of Isle of Wight Tomatoes and the job of taking tomatoes, cucumbers and assorted produce such as aubergines, chillies, peppers, etc., direct to the customer, rapidly expanded into a business in its own right. As a subsidiary of Wight Salads Group, we are able to gather together a large cross section of the tomatoes grown, organic and conventional, traditional heirlooms and super-sweet mini varieties, and offer them fresh from the greenhouse direct to the consumer at Farmers’ Markets.
All organic produce grown by the nursery is Soil Association certified and we aim to have as much organic produce as possible at our various locations every week, sometimes as much as 60%. This depends mainly on the time of year and, of course, the availability of fruit. From March to November you should see a great variety of tasty organic tomatoes on our stalls.
About five years ago we began making 100% natural and absolutely-additive-and-preservative-free tomato products in small batches using the sweetest and tastiest Isle of Wight tomatoes. Our range now includes pure tomato juice and pure tomato sauce, Great Taste 2009 Gold winning oak-roasted cherry tomatoes, oven-roasted tomatoes including Great Taste 2010 Gold winning Oven-Roasted Tomatoes with Basil and our Award winning Great Taste 2010 Gold Tomato Ketchup. Coming soon our version of a classic Roasted Tomato Pesto and watch out for our Hot Sauce currently in development
We pride ourselves on the bold, fresh flavours and 100% purity of all our processed tomato products. Look out for 100% Organic juice and sauce coming soon now that our process has received Soil Association Certification.
This past summer we began offering a wholesale delivery service to a small number of Farm Shops along the south coast. If you would like to see Isle of Wight tomatoes in your local farm shop, tell them to contact us or get in touch with us yourself, we would like to hear from you.
We hope you find what you’re looking for on The Tomato Stall and look forward to receiving your comments.
